James Hayman is the New York Times bestselling author of the McCabe/Savage thrillers, set in and around Portland, Maine. James is a native New Yorker, born in Brooklyn and raised in Manhattan. After graduating from Brown University, he spent more than 35 years as a copywriter and creative director with some of New York's largest ad agencies. Eventually tiring of life as a "Madman" James moved from NYC to Portland, Maine where he began a new career as a fiction writer. His first McCabe/Savage thriller, The Cutting, was published in 2009 by St. Martin's/Minotaur. He followed that up with The Chill of Night, Darkness First and The Girl in the Glass which reached #7 on the NYT bestseller list and #4 on the Wall St. Journal's list. The fifth McCabe/Savage thriller, The Girl on the Bridge, will be published by Harper Collins' Witness/Impulse imprint in 2017.
