Danielle began working at HSG in early 2013. Before finding her home at HSG, she interned at Writer’s House; Clarion Books; Faye Bender Literary Agency; Dunow, Carlson & Lerner; and SquareOne Publishers. She also did some freelance copy editing for John Wiley & Sons. She graduated from Hamilton College with an honors degree in women’s studies and creative writing.

Her passion lies in YA, women’s fiction, mysteries, and fantasy. She gravitates toward stories with strong voices and particularly enjoys complex female characters, coming-of-age stories, complicated family dynamics, and narratives that explore social issues. She finds it hard to resist gorgeous writing and is a sucker for romantic plotlines that are an element of the narrative but don’t dominate it. Genres that appeal to her include contemporary YA, fantasy that takes her to an unfamiliar world, historical fiction, cozy mysteries, and upmarket women’s fiction.
